Featured Music Salim Washington

Our featured artist is Salim Washington. You're listening to just about my favorite song, Morning is The Time For Miracles which he recorded with his group, The Harlem Arts Ensemble on his album Harlem Homecoming. You are listening to him play flute on this song.

I've known Salim Washington since about 1990. He and the woman taught at an independent black school together. There's so much I could say about this man. Incredibly intelligent, wonderful artist, a gracious man who has given me permission to use this music to help soothe the souls who come here in search of each other and something higher. Consider your self blessed if you are just finding him. Check out his his work, the albums are incredible. I've used them time and time again for healing. Turn it on and be amazed!!! He does appreciate this sight because he and I would often talk til dawn about the pressing problems of Africa America and help each other, inspire each other. Much as this sight is intended. He appreciates this sight as the furtherance of my dreams. Enjoy him, because I can assure you he loves black people and our shared experience more than you will ever know

Like that Kweli. It's been my lesson too. I find that I need to dig deeper into my spirit to return my focus in order to get back to my path. I find in lost moments that I am repeating what I've done(spiraling huh?) until I find what I need to bre...

I'm not really sure when I'm "losing" my way, but I've found that my "gut" is a great indicator of when I'm headed toward my goals -- or not. Sometimes, however... when I feel a little lost or disoriented, it is a time when I am most ripe for grow...

In my opinion it is a feeling of negativity. Fear, anxiety, anger, shame, embarrassment, etc are all indicators that something is not what you need, but rather want. In wanting it you have these emotions in a fear of not getting it. Once you are c...

How do we know when? Is it a moment, is it a feeling? Must something happen externally, or does it come from with in?

Founder's Note About This Sight

I've been on the net for about five years. My rise to prominence has been nothing short of meteoric  My blogs became internationally followed. I've sold books in small numbers all over the world. I'm always surprized by Asian and Australian sales or notes from friend fans in those places. One morning July 4th 2009, I open my 1000th request (or so it seemed) to join Face Book. I did. In less than four months I had 1800 friends, with very little work. One morning as I fought depression my Face Boo… Continue

Movie Review: 2012, The Great White Way.

When last we saw our intrepid white folk....

Wow. I just went to see 2012. Great. Great. Great end of the world sci fi. It had it all!!! CGI to die for. Unbelievable human behavior--fly through molten rock storm, through earthquake, survive. Crash plane, survive, etc. UNSCATHED.

But the real reason I liked 2012 was that it gave me hope. I might actu… Continue
